Biogum
Biogum is a natural high-molecular weight polysaccharide produced by microbial fermentation. As hydrocolloids, it has the properties about thickening, suspension stable, emulsification stable and separation / precipitation prevention.
Because of the wide pH stability and excellent heat resistance, it can be used in various fields.
Product
・Xanthan gum (KELZAN ser. / KELTROL CG ser.)
・Gellan gum (KELCOGEL ser.)
・Diutan gum (KELCO-VIS ser.)
-
Features of Xanthan gum
- Dissolves in both cold and hot water.
- High viscosity at low shear rates.
(suspension-stabilizing properties) - Stability to acids, alkalis, and enzymes.
- It is compatible and stable in aqueous solution containing various salts with high concentration, including calcium salts.
- Even coarse and heavy particles can be suspended and stabilized.
- Stable for freezing and thawing.
- Provides lubricity to aqueous solutions.
- Excellent emulsification stability.
- It is widely used in cosmetic and industrial applications.
Features of Diutan gum
- Dissolves in both cold and hot water.
- Compared to other polysaccharides, it shows excellent thickening stability with only a small amount added.
- High viscosity at low shear rates. (suspension-stabilizing properties)
- Excellent emulsification, suspension and dispersion stability.
- Thermal stability, alkaline stability.
- It is compatible and stable with high concentration of salts.
- Stable in freezing and thawing.
- It is mainly used for building material because of the cement compatibility.
Features of Gellan gum
- Heat process is needed when it is dissolved, and it can make gels after cooling.
- Low acyl gellan gum forms hard and brittle gels.
- High acyl gellan gum forms soft and elastic gels.
- It is effective at extremely low use levels, forming gels at concentrations as low as 0.1%.
